The Swill: Baltika No.8 Wheat Ale
The Still: Baltika Breweries
Saint Petersburg, Russia

The Drill: Wheat Ale/Hefeweizen, 25oz bottle, 5.0% ABV
The Spill: I honestly don't remember much about this beer. Other online reviews point to the idea that it's pretty typical for a hefeweizen, delivering a sweet banana/bubble gum flavor that is the hallmark of this European style.
Says Bill: Eastern Europe isn't known for its fine line of beers, though some folks like them. I've tried to warm up to a few Polish brews, but not with much success (more on that later). Holly and I ordered this beer and one other at a Russian restaurant in Redondo Beach called Gambrinus. It's a cozy little place on the water that fed us a pretty forgettable dinner. The beer was more or less the same way, considering this is about all I can recall of it.
Refill?: Nyet: 1 tap out of 5.
